We have used many photographs on our other Algarve pages
particularly on the "Walks" , however there are still quite a few pictures
we liked which were taken whilst out and about.
If you have a hire-car and fancy some holiday sightseeing then definitely a trip inland up to the northern
edge of the Algarve is worth doing in our opinion with really great
countryside, forests and streams to enjoy.
As far as beaches are concerned and in particular nudist/naturist beaches we found that much of the
Albufeira - Portimao coastline was so populated that apart from scrambling down
to the occasional small coves/beaches (often with great difficultly) being a
nudist was not a particularly easy occupation.
However if you go off to the Western Atlantic side of The Algarve there
are huge (and mostly empty) beautiful beaches - as well as lovely small
and just as empty beaches - many available for going nude if you want to
without upsetting anyone. You need to be aware that the sea can be
quite dangerous on these western coastal beaches with even on apparently
quiet days the Atlantic throwing in huge rollers which can create enormous
undertow and strong currents. Needless to say there are quite a few
surfers making use of the waves.
Our photos may seem a little dark and the beaches etc. somewhat deserted - this
was because over our two week walking holiday there was not that much sunshine -
and several times fog and occasional heavy rain showers.
Many people do think about staying in Albufeira so our first set of
photos are just a few from there including the bizarrely coloured marina area
and the town's beach.
