These photos of English Churches cover quite a large area of England from Leicestershire in the Midlands on down to Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Many of the small villages in England still retain their old charm and visiting them is an excellent way to see the nicer parts of England whilst on holiday - whether out sightseeing by car or perhaps walking or cycling.

Our most favourite church so far is the lovely little Church of St Peter - located in the
Cotswolds village of Little Barrington on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire
border - to us this old church sums up everything that makes visiting
England's village churches so delightful.
One of the specialities of Gloucesterhire's churches is their love of exceedingly high spires - for
instance the spire at Kemble's church is really high. It certainly makes taking photographs rather
difficult to say the least since often you cannot get far enough back to photo the whole church.
We found the churches to be quite difficult to photograph - not just because as usual with English Churches there are always lots of lovely but large trees growing right by the churches, but also because the bricks used are a dark brown colour in many cases which really makes them look dark even in sunlight or they have been built in what almost appears to be a cement coloured stone. Some of the churches have really high spires - for instance the impressive spire at Kings Sutton's church - another feature of this lovely church is it has a sundial on it's main structure. One of the longest names we have come across is located in Northants - it's Ashby St Ledgers - The Blessed Virgin Mary and St Leodegarius.
