Just pictures of some beautiful toadstools which can be seen growing around the woodland and countryside in Southern England.
The photographs below are of just a few of the toadstools we have seen whilst we have been out walking in the Chilterns and were mostly taken in late Autumn and early Winter.
We have purchased two books
about identifying English toadstools and fungus (and also spent time searching on the web) so we will try and identify/name each species when we get more time. However for some reason it is somewhat difficult since so far the descriptions and also the pictures in these books do not particularly look very much like our photos.
Many of these toadstools and fungus are as nice visually as many flowers because of their different textures and often vivid colours.
Of further interest might be our other topics showing photos of British Wild Floweres - English Wild Flowers
- wildflower pictures with common flower names "Agrimony" and continuing up to and including "Long Headed Poppy" and our British Wild Flowers
- with names "Lords and Ladies" through to "Yellow Flag Iris"
On our English Bluebell Pictures
topic there are quite a few photos of this beautiful wild flower which also may be of interest
